Sonia Francis – Speech Pathologist
Qualifications: Bachelor of Speech Pathology 2003 from the University Of Queensland
During her 15 years as a speech pathologist, Sonia has worked in acute hospital, rehabilitation, community and education settings helping adults and children who have communication and swallowing difficulties. She moved to the Nambucca Valley in 2005 and started working in private practice in 2009. Sonia has extensive experience working with young children with speech and language delays and school-aged children with language, literacy and learning difficulties. She has also had extensive experience working with adults with voice and swallowing difficulties.
Sonia is committed to enhancing literacy skills in children through a comprehensive assessment of their reading and spelling skills and by administering individualized intervention programs for children experiencing dyslexia and dysgraphia.
Sonia has a special interest in voice rehabilitation, particularly for singers. She has classical singing training and extensive training in a number of voice rehabilitation techniques including Voicecraft.
