Preparing for pointe: pre-pointe assessments on 7 November
Starting pointe work is an exciting milestone for a dancer. A pre-pointe assessment helps assess readiness for this next stage and identifies areas to work on before progressing.
Our clinicians, including Stacey, will be offering pre-pointe assessments at the studio on 7 November.
What does the assessment involve?
Each appointment takes approximately one hour and includes a musculoskeletal assessment and a review of ballet technique to help assess readiness for pointe work.
Following the assessment, dancers receive individual recommendations, including areas to develop and exercises to support their preparation.
Dancers who are ready to begin pointe work will also receive practical advice and exercises to support the transition. There is still plenty to work on as they adjust to the demands of dancing en pointe.
